Thistle Stitches

Being a solopreneur is a lot of work. It can be hard to keep up with everything that goes into it- even very important things, like advertising your products and reaching new customers. I partnered with a local Portland artisan to take her business online and in front of her potential customers.

Thistle Stitches is a jewelry company that creates beautiful hand-stitched jewelry pieces to complement the modern woman. While the owner had always reached most of her customers through trade shows and boutique partnerships, she saw the opportunity to increase sales by reaching her customers where they were. The World Wide Web.

I was brought on to help the founder do just that by establishing a social media and web presence for her brand. To do this, I talked with the founder extensively to establish what brand she wanted to create for her business. What type of customers she wanted to attract, what did she want her jewelry to represent, and when her customers wore her pieces, how did she want them to feel? I used this feedback to establish a brand for Thistle Stitches which informed all the content I would create for it. It was important for me to show the jewelry on real people in keeping with the brand message. I selected models who did not look like your “typical” model but looked like you, me, or anyone who found the page on Instagram.

This project was not only fun and challenging, but it was incredibly rewarding to see my efforts pay off through increased brand visibility and increased sales.
